Job Description

A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Vincent Fondong, Professor in the Department of Biological Science at Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware. The candidate will work on the mechanism of superinfection exclusion by potato virus Y (PVY) using principally Hybridization Chain Reaction (HCR) RNA-FISH and Single-molecule RNA fluorescence in situ hybridization (smFISH) procedures, in addition to routine molecular techniques. A strong background in molecular biology, molecular plant virology, bioimaging and/or bioinformatics is required. This position is expected to last three years.

Experience in the following techniques will be helpful:
• RNA analysis
• Western blot
• RT-qPCR
• Bioimaging
• In situ hybridization
