Job Purpose:

The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine at the University of Sharjah invites OPEN RANK applications from qualified candidates with specialization in Pediatrics to commence appointment in the Fall semester of the Academic Year 2026/2027.

This is an opportunity to serve the College of Medicine as well as University Hospital Sharjah as a joint appointment that is privileged to cater both clinical and academic profiles. We look forward to qualified and experienced professionals who can deliver expertise as academic faculty as well as consultant pediatrician.

Priority will be given to candidates with subspecialties of Academic General Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology, and Pediatric Infectious Diseases.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Deliver high quality teaching and assessment for medical students.
2. Maintain an active research profile with a consistent track record of high-quality publications.
3. Contribute to university and community service activities.
4. Fulfill the roles and responsibilities of a Consultant Pediatrician in accordance with institutional and clinical standards.
5. Participate in educational events and academic programs supporting clinical clerkships.
6. Provide academic advising and mentorship to postgraduate students.
7. Deliver clinical services within the relevant specialty in alignment with clinical and academic requirements.
8. Facilitate group discussions, including clinical Problem Based Learning (PBL) sessions, and contribute to integrated curriculum delivery.
9. Perform other academic or administrative duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson or College Dean.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. A minimum of five (5) years of teaching and clinical experience in the pediatrics field.
2. American Board / Fellowship (or Equivalent) in pediatrics.
