Job Purpose:

The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine at the University of Sharjah invites OPEN RANK applications from qualified candidates with specialization in Internal Medicine (Respiratory Medicine) to commence appointment in the Fall semester of the Academic Year 2026/2027.

This is an opportunity to join the College of Medicine at the University of Sharjah in a role that integrates both academic and clinical responsibilities. The College seeks a qualified and experienced professional who can contribute effectively as a faculty member and as a consultant in Internal Medicine, with a subspecialty focus on Respiratory Medicine.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Participate in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students according to the assigned schedule, with a primary focus on Respiratory Medicine and related pulmonary sciences through lectures, tutorials, workshops, and problem-based learning (PBL).
2. Contribute to OSCE/DOCEE and other examinations, including question preparation, invigilation, supervision, marking, and grading.
3. Participate in the clinical training of students during specialty clerkships.
4. Contribute to assessment activities, including examination preparation, conduct, correction, and invigilation.
5. Conduct scientific research and contribute to scholarly activities.
6. Participate in community service activities organized by the department, college, or university.
7. Provide clinical service, subject to obtaining the necessary professional license and in accordance with university regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. American Board certification, or an equivalent recognized specialty qualification, in Internal Medicine.
2. Postgraduate clinical qualification in Respiratory Medicine from a recognized institution.
3. A minimum of five years of combined teaching and clinical experience as academic faculty and as a consultant in Internal Medicine, preferably with expertise in Respiratory Medicine.
4. Demonstrate competence in distance and blended learning, including the effective use of Blackboard and Microsoft Teams for online teaching.
