Job Purpose:

The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine at the University of Sharjah invites OPEN RANK applications from qualified candidates with specialization in Internal Medicine (Neurology/Neurosciences) to commence appointment in the Fall semester of the Academic Year 2026/2027.

This is an opportunity to serve the College of Medicine University of Sharjah privileged to cater both clinical and academic profiles. We look forward to a qualified and experienced professional who can deliver expertise as academic faculty as well as consultant in internal medicine with primary focus in Neurology/Neurosciences.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students according to the assigned schedule, with primary responsibility for delivering neurology and related neurosciences content through lectures, tutorials, workshops, and Problem Based Learning (PBL) sessions.
2. Contribute to Objective Structured Clinical/Direct Observation Clinical Examinations (OSCE/DOCEE), including examination design, question development, supervision, marking, and evaluation.
3. Participate in the clinical education and training of students during specialty related clerkships.
4. Engage in examination processes, including preparation, administration, invigilation, grading, and result evaluation.
5. Conduct scientific research and contribute to scholarly activities within the field of neurology and neurosciences.
6. Participate in relevant community service programs organized by the department, college or the University.
7. Perform part time clinical service in the relevant specialty upon obtaining the required professional licensure.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. A minimum of five (5) years of teaching and clinical experience as an academic faculty member and consultant in Internal Medicine, with a primary background in Neurology.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in distance and technology enhanced teaching, including effective use of learning management systems and virtual platforms such as Blackboard and Microsoft Teams.
3. Board certification in Internal Medicine (American Board or equivalent recognized clinical qualification).
4. Clinical doctoral degree (MD, DM, or PhD) in Neurology from a recognized and accredited university.
