Job Description

Summary

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Research Assistant to join our group as part of the Single Cell Genomics Core who will play a critical role in performing single cell transcriptomic analysis. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Job Duties

  • Sample processing- Receive and process various biological samples using established protocols to generate single cell/ single nuclei suspensions.
  • Perform QC on live cells and isolated nuclei by counting and viability assessment using microscope and automated cell counters, and ensuring samples meet standards for downstream single cell/single nuclei sequencing.
  • Assist in optimizing existing nuclei isolation protocols for different tissue types and trouble shoot any technical issues that arise during samples preparation.
  • Operate Chromium X platform and generate cDNA and libraries according to the core's standard operating procedures in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed lab notebook and records of all procedures and results.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
  • Relevant research experience in molecular biology.
  • Experienced in techniques related to DNA and RNA handling is highly desired.

Work Authorization Requirement:
