The Senior Analyst will support the day-to-day operations and administration of City of Hope’s (“COH”) basic and translational research activities by developing and managing a high-volume material and data transfer agreements in support of COH’s biobanking and microbiome programs. The Senior Analyst’s role is focused on analyzing, drafting, negotiating, and executing material and data transfer agreements and related research agreements.

Secondary Responsibilities of the Senior Analyst will include 1) advising investigators, faculty, staff, colleagues, and other stakeholders on material/data transfers, confidentiality, and related matters, 2) performing analytical projects and other duties to ensure COH’s material transfer program is consistent with best practices, 3) developing, using, and maintaining the material transfer database in order to provide reports and analyses, and 4) performing other administrative, process-improvement, project-management, and related tasks to drive efficiency and advance COH’s research mission and goals.

The Senior Analyst will be a detail-oriented, reliable individual who is successful working both autonomously and as part of a team. They possess a sense of urgency and can ensure expeditious completion of tasks and assignments that advance City of Hope's mission and goals.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Analyze, draft, negotiate, and execute a wide variety of material and data transfer agreements. These agreements will vary in complexity and contract partners, including external for-profit entities, academic collaborators, domestic and international agencies, and internal COH colleagues. Develop, utilize, and maintain templates, processes, and policies to support the high-volume of transfers necessary for COH’s biobanking and microbiome programs.
  • Advise investigators, faculty, staff, colleagues, and other stakeholders on publication, data, confidentiality, intellectual property, and other related issues.
  • Communicate extensively at a variety of levels with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers and legal representatives from academic partners, nonprofit and commercial organizations, and domestic and foreign governmental agencies.
  • Develop, use and maintain the MTA database. Recommend and implement strategies for maximizing use of electronic tools. Provide extensive and high-level technical analysis and reporting in this high-volume setting.
  • Assist in administrative tasks, process improvements, project management, and related activities to advance COH’s research mission and goals. Identify opportunities for process improvement within the material transfer program to enhance efficiency and compliance with best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement process improvements and ensure adherence to quality standards. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for enhancements as needed.

Your Qualifications should include

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Five years’ experience analyzing, drafting, negotiating, and finalizing basic, translational, and/or clinical research agreements.
  • Juris Doctor preferred

Salary range $103,459 - $165,547

Pay Rate: $49.75 - $79.59 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
