The successful candidate:

The Director of Supportive & Integrative Oncology is a programmatic and people leader accountable for all operational aspects within the departments of Supportive & Integrative Oncology. As a programmatic and people leader, the Director is responsible for the growth and development of those on the teams under their responsibility. This individual is a change leader within the enterprise, continuously evaluating and refining program and departmental processes to enhance safety, quality, and profitability, while also improving daily operations and patient outcomes.

The Director must exhibit strong critical thinking, complex decision-making, and deductive reasoning skills. Furthermore, the Director is responsible for building and maintaining collaborative relationships with all members of various inpatient and outpatient teams, particularly with physicians and leaders, as well as with leaders and team members in partner departments who facilitate patient care.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to daily department and program operations, strategic planning and business development, quality and clinical excellence, policy and procedure development and adherence, financial stability and budgeting, employee influence and leadership, patient retention, and positive patient experience.

  • Lead the operational activities of the Supportive & Integrative Oncology departments through effective communication, administration and implementation of best practices.

  • Collaborate with regional and enterprise leadership to develop and implement long-term strategic plans that support the COH MVVB and goals.

  • Commit to operational and clinical excellence through continual improvement of processes, support of lean principles and participation in local and enterprise quality improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with numerous external regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, CMS, etc.) and certifying/quality agencies (QOPI, NABPC, NQMBC, COC, etc.).

  • Lead talent management processes and budget development for direct and programmatic reports and departments Define and clarify roles, set expectations for performance, manage disciplinary action, evaluation and prepare talent for succession planning.

Minimum Education:

Master’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration

Minimum Experience:

Minimum of ten years of leadership experience, 7+ years in healthcare operations

Preferred Education:

Undergraduate degree in a clinical area preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills

Software:

Microsoft Office, EPIC

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $50.06 - $82.43 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
