Clinical Scheduler

The successful candidate:

The clinical scheduler coordinates patient scheduling for physicians in accordance with their practice policies and procedures to ensure patients receive timely access to medical care. The scheduler must have excellent communication skills as they are often the first point of contact for patients when setting up appointments or asking questions regarding appointments.
Essential Job Functions
• Verifies insurance coverage on all patients prior to scheduling any appointment.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures set forth by management including but not limited to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.
• Maintains confidentiality at all times in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.
• Demonstrates professional behavior at all times under stressful situations.
• Demonstrates respect for patients, families, staff members, visitors, and other customers at all times.
• Ability to schedule accurate appointments based on the provider’s schedule.
• Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergency situations per protocols.
• Manages daily workflow by prioritizing tasks and delegating workload as needed.
• Interacts effectively with physicians and office staff to promote teamwork and facilitate the accomplishment of departmental activities.
• Organizes and maintains filing system.
• Maintains telephone etiquette at all times.

Licensing/Certification
N/A
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Associate's degree (preferred)
Minimum Work Experience
1 year experience as a medical receptionist (preferred)
1 year experience as a customer service representative (preferred)
Must have strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, physicians, and other staff members.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $19.51 - $30.15 / hour
