This Project Development Scientist position will be part of the Clinical and Translational Project Development Core of the Hematologic Malignancies Research Institute (HMRI). This Core supports clinical protocol development, project management, and scientific writing for the HMRI.

You will work with the Transplant Center and Modality Team as well as the Microbiome Center and will work closely with Center/Disease/Modality Team leaders, laboratory and clinical researchers, and biostatisticians to shepherd projects from conception to grant submission, to clinical protocol, to manuscript. This team approach to clinical research offers continuity of intellectual and practical input and is both efficient and rewarding.

As a successful candidate, you will:

· Develop in-depth knowledge of disease or treatment modality area of focus

· Contribute to clinical trial protocol development, writing, and regulatory interactions from conception to activation:

o Provide scientific and project management support for hematopoietic cell transplantation and microbiome clinical trials

o Assist with preparation of protocol amendments, regulatory responses, and technical documents

o Create, review and update consent forms and other study-related documents

· Assist with identification of funding opportunities, grant writing and submission, and philanthropic proposals

· Work with investigators and statisticians to ensure the clarity and accuracy of data presentations, as well as the appropriate interpretation of results

· Organize and provide scientific writing/editing for manuscripts, data presentations and journal submissions.

Your qualifications should include:

· The Staff Scientist must possess, at a minimum, the U.S. equivalent Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline, and will often have a Ph.D. or other doctoral level degree.

· Must have a background in cellular therapy, Immunology or other life sciences with experience in scientific writing, clinical study design or clinical trial management in a healthcare/research/academic environment

· Previous involvement with clinical and translational studies, protocol design/writing for human therapeutic studies, and observational/retrospective or NIH or DOD research grant writing (R01 level, not post-doctoral fellowships) is preferred

· Familiarity with data analysis techniques, graphing methods, and interpretation of laboratory and clinical data.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $38.67 - $127.69 / hour
