Job Description

The Bhattacharya Lab at UCSF is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to investigate mechanisms of pulmonary fibrosis, with a focus on immune–mesenchymal interactions and extracellular nucleotide signaling. Our group combines in vivo mouse models, ex vivo precision-cut lung slice systems, and single-cell genomics to define molecular pathways that regulate fibroblast activation and tissue remodeling.
This position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic, collaborative environment at UCSF, with access to world-class facilities in molecular biology, imaging, and computational biology.
Responsibilities
Design and execute experiments on lung fibrosis models (in vivo and ex vivo).
Employ molecular and cellular approaches, including single-cell RNA-seq, flow cytometry, and imaging.
Analyze data and contribute to publications and presentations.
Collaborate with lab members and external partners in academia and industry.
Mentor graduate students and research staff.
Qualifications
PhD (or MD/PhD) in immunology, molecular biology, pulmonary biology, bioengineering, or a related field.
Strong background in cell and molecular biology; experience with mouse models is highly desirable.
Demonstrated record of productivity (publications, conference presentations).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with fibrosis models or lung biology.
Proficiency in one or more of: flow cytometry, microscopy, single-cell genomics, bioinformatics, or pharmacology.
Interest in translational research and therapeutic target discovery.
Compensation
Salary and benefits are commensurate with UCSF guidelines for postdoctoral scholars.
