Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

As Teaching Fellow in Biomedical Sciences, you will play a core role in delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across areas relevant to the Biomedical Science major. This may include lectures, tutorials, workshops, laboratories, and fieldwork.

Your responsibilities will also include contributing to assessment, paper administration, development of teaching materials, and training or supervising sessional assistants.

Teaching Fellows at Waikato focus on excellence in teaching and learning rather than research, making this an ideal role for those passionate about education, student engagement, and impactful teaching practice.

Salary will be in the range of $79,211 to $111,169 per year, based on the skills, knowledge, and experience you bring to the role. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours a week) based at our Hillcrest campus.

You will hold a postgraduate qualification in a biomedical sciences discipline and have proven successful tertiary-level teaching experience in areas relevant to Biomedical Science.

You are known for your ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues, and for your commitment to delivering engaging, inclusive, and innovative learning experiences, including online and blended approaches.

You will bring:

- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- High accuracy in assessment and marking.
- The ability to adopt and apply new teaching methods, models, and technologies.
- A commitment to cultural safety, equity, diversity, and partnership with Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented, student-focused environment.

A background in curriculum development is an advantage.
