Position summary:
The Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites application of a postdoctoral position to conduct vaccine-related research. The successful postdoctoral fellow is expected to design and develop next-generation of vaccines based on our proprietary platforms and conduct in vivo animal studies to evaluate vaccine efficacy and safety. Post-doctoral fellowship is initially for one year, but it may be renewed annually based on progress.

Responsibilities:
• Design and develop next-generation of vaccines and evaluate vaccine efficacy and safety in preclinical animal models.
• Collect, analyze, interpret, and present experimental data using appropriate statistical methods.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Contribute to the preparation and writing of grant proposals.
• Present research findings at laboratory meetings and scientific conferences.
• Mentor and train graduate and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with other investigators to advance research projects.

Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Virology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience in molecular cloning, immunological assays, and animal models.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute independent research projects.
• Strong data analysis, scientific writing, and communication skills.
• A publication record commensurate with the career stage.
• Ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in vaccine development and preclinical evaluation.
• Experience in manuscript and grant writing.
• Previous experience mentoring students.
