Job Description

The Svitkina lab at the University of Pennsylvania is looking for a postdoctoral research associate to work on an NIH-funded project to study cytoskeletal mechanisms of cell migration and morphogenesis with a particular focus on the roles of Adenomatous Polyposis coli (APC) protein in the actin-microtubule crosstalk during neurite outgrowth and cell navigation. In our studies of cytoskeleton functions we use a combination of fluorescence light microscopy and platinum replica electron microscopy (PREM), which reveal cellular dynamics and nanoscale structure of the cytoskeleton, respectively. We also use a whole range of modern molecular biology and biochemical approaches. Applicants should send their CV and names of 2-3 references.
